My Khe became famous with the debarkation of US Marines in March 1965 when the United States entered the Vietnam War. With its green water and white sand China Beach was best known as a recreational area from the hell of combat with thousands of American soldiers spending their holidays swimming and surfing on these beautiful 30 kilometers of golden sand.

Nowadays, the beach is attractive not only surfers from all over the world but also to tourists and locals who want to bathe, enjoy the seafood, and get some relaxation. My Khe is lined with restaurants where you can sit and relax under shady umbrellas between dips in the water or sportive games of volleyball. Only a small patch of the beach is developed - the rest goes on for miles to the north and south and is relatively deserted.
