English for underprivileged students
Fisher’s SuperKids was honored to have been awarded the English Access Microscholarship Program (a.k.a ACCESS) by the US Department of State to teach underprivileged students 13-18 years old from various Houses of Compassion and charity organizations in Danang. 25 students are currently enrolled in this two-year program which is the first of its kind in Central Vietnam. The students are taught English, basic computer skills and American culture. The purpose of the ACCESS program is to equip the students with skills that will enable them to overcome their difficult situations through better education.
A similar program sponsored by East Meets West Foundation is under way for 25 poor but very smart students from various central provinces. This is an intensive summer immersion program that might be repeated over the years.
