Originated in 2008, Da Nang Fireworks Festival (also called DIFC – Danang International Fireworks Competition) used to be an annual event held in coastal city of Da Nang, Vietnam. The competition will become bi-yearly event started from 2015. The new schedule provides enough time to the organizer for better preparation.
Though it is not as famous as Macau International Fireworks Display with 26-year history, Da Nang Fireworks Festival is now a brand name of the city. The 7th competition in 2013 attracted hundreds thousands of visitors coming to the Da Nang.
Da Nang Fireworks Festival is organized on the occasion of Vietnam National Reunion Day (30 April) and Labor Day (1 May). These are the important holidays in Vietnam. Participants are pyrotechnic teams from all over the world compete against each other. Location of the firing is at Han River port. Watching stands are on the other side of river bank. However, the fireworks performance can be viewed at many vantage points around the city, on the bridges or on boats.
